Using Freja for Your University

Most major universities in Sweden use Freja for authentication. This means using Freja to access your university’s e-services and other resources.

What Is Freja?

Freja is a digital identity (e-ID) approved for use by the Swedish government and the EU.

It allows registered users to conveniently and safely access e-services of companies and organisations – both public and private.

Can I Get Freja?

People from 170+ countries may register in Freja with their biometric passport. Additionally, citizens of EU/EEA countries (except for Denmark and Iceland) may register with their biometric national ID card.

Note: biometric ID = contains an embedded NFC chip.

How to Get Freja?

Freja is completely free to use and only need to register once. To complete your registration follow these steps:

1. Download the Freja mobile app
2. Register with an email and set a PIN
3. Scan your biometric ID (passport or ID card) and take a selfie
4. Send us your data for verification

How to Use Freja

Access them by:

1. Selecting Freja as your login method
2. Following the instructions on the login page
3. Approving the login action with your PIN/biometrics in Freja
