Managed Control

Information for Legal Guardians

If you are a legal guardian, you have certain rights within Freja when it comes to the account of the user you are representing.

Find more information on this page.

Shared Control

Shared Control is a Freja feature that lets you connect a trusted helper to your Freja account. This can be a relative, caretaker or another person you trust.

When you log in or make an electronic signature with Freja, your helper receives a notification in their own Freja app. The action is completed only when both you and your helper approve it.

This can help prevent mistakes and give extra support when using digital services.

How Shared Control Works

The user always starts the login or signature. The helper cannot use the user’s Freja account, start transactions or approve anything on their own.

For an action to go through:

  • the user must approve it in their Freja app
  • the helper must approve it in their Freja app
  • both approvals must happen within two minutes

If either person declines, or if the helper does not respond in time, the action is cancelled.

Helpers should keep notifications enabled for Freja so they do not miss approval requests.

How to Activate Shared Control

Both the user and the helper must have Freja and must have verified their identity with an ID document in the app.

To activate Shared Control, both people must be in the same place.

The helper starts the setup in the Freja app:

More > Shared Control

The user then scans a QR code from the helper’s phone and follows the instructions in the app.

Who Can Be a Helper?

You can choose anyone you trust as your helper. One helper can also assist several people at the same time, for example several family members or dependents.

Each Shared Control connection is separate from the others.

Legal Responsibility

Shared Control does not change legal responsibility.

The user is still responsible for the actions they approve in connected services. Shared Control is an agreement between the user and the helper, not between the helper and the service where Freja is used.

Ending Shared Control

Either the user or the helper can end Shared Control at any time in the Freja app.

Both people do not need to be together to end it. When one person ends Shared Control, the other receives a notification in their Freja app.
