For those of you who are using Freja to apply for a visa with the Swedish Migration Agency, there are several known issues particularly when it comes to NFC passport reading. Follow this page for updates on the following issues:
For Holders of Colombian, Peruvian, and Ukrainian Passports
If you have a passport from Colombia, Peru or Ukraine, there is a known issue that makes NFC reading difficult to complete.
Status: We are working on resolving this issue.
For Holders of German Passports
There is a known issue with NFC scanning of German passports.
Status: Resolved. Make sure you have the latest version of Freja.
For Holders of US Passports
If you have a US passport and are having trouble completing the NFC reading, your device cannot reach the NFC chip properly because of where the NFC chip is located within the passport.
Solution: Open your passport and place your device directly onto the laminated data page. This should resolve all issues regarding NFC reading.
NFC Reading Connection Timing Out
If you are having trouble completing the NFC reading in general e.g. the scan is taking too long and the connection is timing out, it is a known issue primarily affecting iPhones.
Status: Resolved. Make sure you have the latest version of Freja.
