Freja is trusted by hundreds of public and private e-services, and tens of thousands of physical locations across Sweden.

E-ID for Foreign Users

Freja now supports 167 countries and territories in the world. Users from these countries can add their passport to Freja for a higher level of identity assurance.

How to Register for Freja

Set up your basic account details – your email and PIN – first.

Second, verify your identity with a photo and valid ID document.

We recommend using your passport or Swedish national ID since that will grant you Freja+ immediately, from the comfort of your home.

If you use another ID document such as your driving licence, you will need to visit one of our 2000 agents to get Freja+ for the highest level of security in Freja.

Who Can Have Freja?

Making Freja accessible to as many people as possible is crucial for us. Swedish citizens over the age of 8 can have Freja with no limitations.

There are corner cases though: Swedes living abroad, people with a protected identity, foreigners in Sweden etc.
