Receiving your mail from companies and authorities in a digital mailbox has become incredibly popular. Unfortunately, a large number of Swedes find themselves excluded from this innovation. Furthermore, those who can access a digital mailbox have not been able to get all their mail there. Together with the new player Billo, we are now democratising digital mail in Sweden.
For official mail, Min Myndighetspost has been accessible with Freja for a number of years now. But if you also wanted mail from other companies, the digital mailboxes that offer this only offered BankID as an identification method. This means that hundreds of thousands of individuals have been digitally excluded simply because they do not meet certain banks’ requirements to be a customer.
Billo is a new, state-approved digital mailbox that, just like Freja, highly priorities inclusion and sustainability. With Billo, you will soon be able to get a digital mailbox without having to fulfil the banks’ requirements to be able to have a BankID. You will be able to register an account and log in to Billo with Freja.
But even for those of you who already have a digital mailbox, there are reasons to consider Billo. You can receive mail in Billo digitally even if the sender sends it as a physical letter. Billo can scan your incoming letters and send them to your digital mailbox. Just like Freja, Billo’s services are completely free of charge for you as a private person.
Freja will be introduced as an ID method at Billo during the month of October. Keep an eye out in the Freja app or at Billo so you can be involved from the start.
