A theme day to inspire everyone to partake in digital development. This year Digitalidag takes place on 14 October – the fourth one in a row.

Over 250 companies and organisations are participating and 1,000 activities are jointly organised at 215 locations across Sweden. Digitalidag was founded in 2019 and the movement and commitment to it has grown annually. This year’s gathering demonstrates that participants from the business world, authorities, civil society, libraries and municipalities want to be involved and contribute to creating a digitally inclusive society for everyone.

This year, on 14 October, special focus is on helping people round out their abilities with new digital skills. In some cases, it is about giving people support to be able to start their so-called ‘digital puzzle’, while for others it can be about supplementing their existing skill set with additional ‘puzzle pieces’. Regardless of age, the vast majority of people are actually missing a piece of the puzzle. Digitalidag wants to draw attention to this.

Freja will participate this year too with two webinars. Freja is one of two government approved e-IDs in Sweden and is also known as the e-ID for inclusion. Since its conception, Freja has put a lot of effort into creating features for inclusion which means that a many people, excluded up until now, are can now use an e-ID:

  • Independence – no need for the user to be a customer at a certain bank to get an e-ID;
  • Shared Control – a legal guardian or a relative can co-sign with their e-ID;
  • Protected Identity – this group of people can get an e-ID with Freja;
  • Accessibility – young people, the elderly and disabled can get Freja easily without having to book a meeting with a bank;
  • Physical identification – Freja contains a physical ID card which means that young people and others who do not have an ID card no longer need to walk around with their passport that can be stolen.

At 15:00 on 14 October the two Freja webinars start – ”How to Be Secure on the Internet” with eminent police officer Jan Olsson and ”An eID with Extra Safety” with Freja’s eloquent CEO Johan Henrikson.
