Freja eID Group was named security company of the year at Tech Awards Sweden 2022, an award established and given out by TechSverige and IDG, an organisation for industries and employers.
Tech Awards Sweden was held on March 22 in Stockholm, with the finalists representing companies, organisations and individuals participating in six different categories. As for Freja winning first place as the Security Company of the Year, the jury said:
‘In a digital society, systems need to be accessible – but also secure, robust and redundant. Recent developments show cyber security’s increasingly prominent role in that with frightening clarity. The winner of the Security Award of the Year contributes greatly to the security, robustness and redundancy of digital society. As more people gain access to e-services, a bank-independent e-ID ensures their inclusion. At the same time, the societal risk associated with an individual dominant actor becoming a single point of failure for an important community service is decreased. A digital wallet and e-ID, which can be used to securely log in to more than 300 services online and over 5,000 places physically – which currently has more than half a million users and is approved by the EU.’
It was interesting that the jury highlighted, among other things, the importance of how Freja contributes to redundancy when Sweden has now become so dependent on e-IDs for so many critical services in society. Now all authorities, municipalities and companies have a responsibility that Sweden’s digital redundancy is not only theoretical, but that everyone actually makes sure to support the two mobile e-identifications that are state-approved. Individuals must also take security precautions, and make sure to have a back-up e-ID if something should happen.
How to Get Freja eID+?
To get Freja eID+, people first need to get the Freja app and verify their identity in the app with a photo and a valid ID document, and then visit an agent to physically verify themselves. The list of agents can be found in the Freja app.

Why Get Freja eID+?
