Everyone should have the same right to access the health services they need – something we can all easily agree on right? On 7 April each year, the WHO celebrates World Health Day, and the theme this year is ‘Health for Everyone’.
One in ten people in Sweden live in digital exclusion – this means that, for various reasons, they cannot have the e-ID required to access thousands of e-health services that many people take for granted.
With Freja, however, many of those that are left behind can have a government-approved e-ID. People can get Freja from the age of 13, without needing a bank account.
Who Is Most at Risk?
Young people, people with disabilities and the some elderly people are just some examples of people who cannot have a bank account and are thus excluded from the banks’ e-ID solution. And yet, these people need access to e-health services and apps just like everybody else.
Some of these services are public and some are private, and by not offering all available login options, they are excluding a significant number of people from accessing them. In this way they cannot:
- make an appointment for vaccination
- book a video meeting with a psychologist
- book a video consultation with a doctor
- manage their prescriptions and much, much more
Every day Freja is working hard to get more healthcare services and apps into the system and be offered as a login option for more inclusion.
Is there anywhere where you wish you could use Freja for login? Or do you know someone who is living in digital exclusion and cannot access the services they need? Get in touch with us at kontakt@frejaied.se we’d love to hear your story.
Here’s to e-health for everyone!
