We at Freja have always been dedicated to fairness, equality and bringing as many people as possible into the digital world. Hard as it might be to believe, many people in Sweden constantly face obstacles whenever they need to complete something online. This makes something that the majority take for granted, an insurmountable task for others.
We are proud to say that Freja has been partners with PictureMyLife since almost the beginning in 2017. PictureMyLife gives people with disabilities the opportunity to better learn, communicate, express themselves and showcase their life online in a safe and constructive way.
PictureMyLife is also one of the organisations that is fighting to end digital discrimination in Sweden with us.
What is PictureMyLife?
PictureMyLife is an online platform dedicated to ensuring that people with disabilities can learn, play and safely share their life with their loved ones in a safe online environment.
In essence, people may create communities of up to 30 other people that they can share their life with by posting images and videos, and messaging each other.
The digital communication through PictureMyLife and the feeling of belonging it fosters strengthens areas that may have been affected by the disability. Furthermore, people gain a sense of independence and agency in their lives by choosing exactly which moments they wish to share with the world, not to mention the feeling of inclusion.
All conversations and social interactions also take place on one platform so that one doesn’t need to rely on a multitude of different apps, address books, social media etc.
We truly believe that PictureMyLife is an innovative product with a humane goal, and are proud to be associated with them.
If you’re interested to check out PictureMyLife we encourage you to visit their website.
Join Our Fight against Digital Discrimination
We are constantly seeing people face difficulties in the digital world. That’s why we have achieved the following:
- People under 18 can get Freja
- Swedes with protected identities can get Freja
- Our Shared Control feature done in collaboration with PTS
- Foreigners with a Swedish personnummer can get Freja
- People with coordination numbers can get Freja
- Swedes abroad can get Freja
There are still around 10% of Swedes that cannot access the e-services they need and have the right to access because they don’t have the required e-ID.
PictureMyLife and many other organisations are joining the fight with us to end digital discrimination.
Your voice can be heard too! Sign our petition that we will hand in to the Swedish government to demand that:
“All services requiring an e-ID shall offer all government approved alternatives so that everyone in society is included.”
Stockholm Event on 3 December
On 3 December, which is World Disability Day, we will be hosting a demonstration in Stockholm near Stureplan.
Come and meet us if you can, join your voice with ours for those who can’t do it themselves.
