Key information:
- We are discontinuing support for Android 8 as of 1 July 2026;
- We are not deleting is disabling your Freja account;
- We recommend you update your operating system or transfer your Freja account to a device with a newer one.
If you are using a device that is running Android 8, we would like to notify you that we will stop supporting Freja on Android 8.
This will not have consequences immediately and you will still be able to use Freja normally.
Why this is important
At some point in the future, especially after major updates to the app, your Freja app might not work on an Android device running Android 8.
Why we are doing this
Since Android 8 has been discontinued by Google and has not received any updates since October 2021, this is a decision based on security.
What Steps You Need to Take
If possible, update your operating system in your device’s Settings as soon as possible.
If you can’t update your operating system
Transfer your Freja account to a device that is running a newer operating system.
You can easily do this by following these steps:
Important: don’t delete your Freja account on your old phone until the transfer is complete.
- Install Freja onto a new device
- Select ‘Existing User’ > ‘Transfer Freja to a New Phone’
- Scan the QR code on the new device with the QR scanner on your old device
- Follow the instructions in the app to complete the transfer
