Safety concerns
If you have safety concerns, don’t worry. Freja eID is the only mobile eID that has been approved by the Swedish Agency for Digital Government. We have an entire page dedicated to the Security features and procedures in Freja eID.
Now that your security concerns have hopefully been put to rest, let’s get into the concrete benefits.
Freja eID becomes your personal eID
When you create your Freja eID account, we only have your email. And while you do get the benefits of logging in without the hassle of passwords, for certain services, you are missing out on many features in Freja eID that only become available once you add your ID-document. Once you do add your document to Freja eID, it will manifest in the app as a personal eID card with your data.
You can access this eID card and use it to identify yourself in a variety of ways:
- Show your eID to prove your identity and age.
- Allow somebody to scan the QR code with your data in cases when somebody might need a record of your identity.
- Share your identity online via a link – prove your identity securely before even meeting someone!

Gain access to many more services
While you can access some online services without adding a document to Freja eID, more and more of them need better proof of your identity due to security concerns. And as more and more services have this requirement, Freja eID becomes a better and better solution because you only need to use one app to gain access to them.
Furthermore, we are working hard to connect as many services to Freja eID as possible. Our Connected Services page has more information about available services, and to see all services connected to Freja eID, just log in to My Pages. You can use Freja eID for 1177.se, ATG, Arbetsförmedlingen, Svenska Spel, Resurs Bank just to name a few.
It’s really easy to do
Adding your document to Freja eID only takes minutes and can be done from the comfort of your home. Once your data is sent, it will take a couple of minutes for our security team to verify it (please note, however, that we perform security checks on workdays between 8 and 22).
While you are waiting to be verified, you can use the application normally, and when the verification process is done, we will notify you about your new status.
