Deleting your Freja account is fully within your rights if you don’t wish to use Freja anymore. However, we have found that in certain situations people are deleting their accounts for completely different, unnecessary reasons.

Here is a list of situations in which you might reconsider deleting your Freja account.

When You Get a New Phone

Why you think you should delete your account:

You got a new phone and you’re not sure how to keep using Freja on it.

What you should do instead:

Without deleting Freja on your old phone, install Freja on your new phone.

On the welcome screen select ‘Existing User’ and then ‘Transfer Freja to New Phone’. Then just follow the steps to add Freja to your new phone.

Read more about transferring your device on our website.

You Lost Access to Your Email

Why you think you should delete your account:

Either due to security reasons and/or you are no longer able to see emails from Freja.

What you should do instead:

You can easily change your email in Freja by following these steps:

  1. Log into My Pages with Freja
  2. Under ‘User Details’ add another email that you have access to
  3. Now that both emails are visible in My Pages set your new email to be the primary one
  4. Remove your old email

Important notifications from Freja will now arrive to your new email.

The ID You Added to Freja has Expired

Why you think you should delete your account:

Your ID has expired so you think that your Freja has expired too, and to keep using it you must delete your account and create a new one.

What you should do instead:

We have covered this issue in more depth in a separate blogpost, so we recommend you check it out.

In short, if your ID document has expired, you can keep using Freja normally, it has no bearing on you being able to use Freja.

You have Lost Your Phone

Why you think you should delete your account:

You have security concerns that someone could take over your Freja account.

What you should do instead:

In this case we recommend you immediately contact our blocking service as this will block your Freja account straight away, thus preventing anyone else from trying to use it.

If you get your phone back, you can unblock Freja and keep using it normally.

If you get a new phone, you can recover your account with your email. However, for security reasons, you will need to add your ID document to Freja again.
