It is an EU regulation whose purpose is to make digital services easier to access and more secure across EU borders.

What does this mean for Swedes?

It means that if you are a Swede living abroad in another EU country, you can use Freja+ to log in to government services e.g. in Malta, France, Finland etc.

How do I use Freja abroad?

When you want to access a foreign government’s e-service, select Freja+ as the login/authentication method. After that log in normally.

How do I get Freja?

Freja is a mobile app that you can download from all stores.

What is Freja+?

It is the highest level of security offered in Freja. You need to visit one of our agents and do a quick security check to get it. Freja+ is completely free to get and use.

Where can I use Freja+ to log in?

In Sweden: you can use Freja to log in to hundreds of e-services e.g. 1177.se, Skatteverket, Polismyndigheten, Transportstyrelsen, Pensionsmyndigheten etc.

Outside of Sweden (via eIDAS): it’s difficult to say the exact number, but there are also hundreds of government e-services of other EU countries that have implemented Freja for Swedish citizens.
